Anticipation builds the closer one gets to Qii House, fuelled by the excitement created by the inspiring website descriptions. A canopy of overhanging trees and an escort of native birds welcomed us as we drove into the beautiful bushland setting.

At the first glimpse of this amazing iconic house you know you are in for a special treat; a secluded paradise. The retreat is like a parading lyre bird in all its splendour beckoning towards you to urge you closer.

Both inside and out a fiesta of colour and art are a feast for the eyes. Every detail has been thoughtfully considered and knits together in perfect, synchronistic harmony. At the heart of this house is its retro architecture and decor.

The retro-influenced vibrancy of the decor tones well with the naturalness of the woodwork inside and the natural bushland beyond the windows, with different aspects visible from every window.

There’s plenty of space with four character filled bedrooms accommodating up to 8 people and a diversity of interesting places to sit and contemplate nature’s beauty. Every comfort is catered for with a good selection of books and games, and a well equipped kitchen that enables you to stay in with catering and/or to cook in your own cocoon rather than venture out.

The garden itself boosts several pleasant little surprises; serene spots to sit, read, chat, reflect or meditate perhaps.

The generous decking and alfresco dining area with its beautiful views is perfect for yoga, Tai Chi, or other activities of a similar ilk for at least 8 people, as well as being a great spot for social gatherings and spending quiet time alone.

Heather goes beyond any expectations in delivering a high quality, luxury accommodation with some little surprise gifts thrown in.

If you are looking for an escape from the constancy and madness of our modern day routines this is it; a retreat for the senses. The natural setting of Qii House reinvigorates and invites a reconnection to Mother Earth and to self so it is the perfect setting for a personal or group retreat. Spirituality is a given is such a place.

I highly recommend Qii House for a yoga and/or meditation retreat. This is not just a house. It is somewhere you will want to book again even before you leave.
