“Be content with what you have, rejoice in the way things are. When you realise there is nothing lacking, the whole world belongs to you.” Lao Tzu… “the secret of happiness you see is not found in seeking more, but in developing the capacity to enjoy less.” Socrates.
We at Qii House are excited and welcome the Tiny House experience. A bird’s eye view of endless magical forest and sunset landscapes; akin to nature and the art of living in harmony with nature and Otway rainforest life. Our latest installation of three custom Tiny Houses is almost complete and grace the landscape at Qii House…in hiding. More happy, relaxed retreat spaces for your enjoyment!
Qii House is working on this project with “Treehab “. Treehab was formed by people who are passionate about design, innovation and most importantly sustainability. Their mission is to provide innovative solutions that are environmentally sound and sustainable; and to be well equipped in the provision of the small creature comforts we all adore! Each tiny home is custom designed for the specific place, client requirements and purpose taking in passive, contemporary design principles. We are excited to announce It is the very first tiny house installation in the Otways and in the whole of Western Victoria. There are some in the Dandenongs and the Yarra Valley. Your stay will be history in the making! What an adventure!
The Tiny Houses look incredible and very soon will be guest ready. The Billabong creation was another highlight and I can’t wait to see the finishing touches, the addition of river stones, boulders, water plants and trout! Mother nature will surely weave some more magic! So, I am getting really excited again and have been working alongside my house guest, Dingo Dean Hampel on a little landscaping and revegetation. Another legend. Can’t wait for springtime and for it to rain buckets.
Our three “Tiny Houses” will each have unique Japanese Zen names…
We will market “Ukiyo” which means “floating world”; living in the moment detached from the bothers of life, “Kensho” meaning “seeing one’s true nature and “Kokoro” meaning a sensory, feeling one gets if we were to take a moment to reflect on the interconnectedness of all things; it is the embodiment of concepts of heart, mind, spirit, will, consciousness and soul.
“Thoughts, feelings, and desires, or will, are all interrelated aspects of what it means to be human, and we would be wise to take all of them, and their interrelationship, into account in order to understand human experience.” (Swanson, 1993).
These tiny eco dwellings have been custom built to compliment the principles of “Forest Therapy’ or “Shinrinyoku’ which is a popular practice in Japan. Shinrin means “forest” and yoku means “bath.”
Shinrin-yoku means bathing in the forest atmosphere, or taking in the forest through our senses. It is a researched based therapeutic modality with multi-factorial health benefits including stress reduction and elevating mood; and is impacting the world.
The tiny houses underpin “Qii House’s” philosophy and each is immersed in a forest canopy within the Great Otway National Park; a haven for peace and tranquillity. And yes, they do have some “quirk”, including red cupboards, colourful furnishings, a pantry, queen day bed with three built in drawers, smeg appliances, a large round “fishbowl” window, double sliding glass doors leading to your own private deck with a large custom built eco bath big enough for two, a hammock, yoga mats and some seating. You will also have your own private carpark.
The property has an INFTA internationally accredited rainforest walking circuit for Forest Therapy for your use. We provide guidelines on forest therapy with the “welcome pack”, a complimentary bottle of wine, chocolates, a box of therapeutic tea, natural earth bath salts and a handmade soy wax candle and bedlinen. Television reception is poor, so we hope you can be resourceful enough to undertake some green exercise, to take a break from technology and to digitally detox!
Our mission is to provide you with a transformational travel experience for deepening self- awareness through connecting to nature. The natural bush setting offers our guests a quiet respite designed to connect them on a deeper level to nature
We hope that your tiny home away from home experience will be transformational, leaving you feeling refreshed, energized and inspired! When we discover nature, we discover ourselves.!
“If one’s life is simple, contentment has to come…having few desires, feeling satisfied with what you have, is very vital, satisfaction with just enough food, clothing, and shelter to protect your self from the elements.” Dalai Lama.
